Astro Pop Candy Suckers "Vegan"(42g): Chinese
In 1963, two 'Rocket Scientists' working on the space programme in El Segundo, California decided to quit their employment and design the Astro Pop, which was modelled after a three-stage rocket. They constructed specific apparatus to produce the cone-wrappers at fast speed, as well as other hand-made equipment, because they were true "Rocket Scientists." Astro Pops were made in an innovative way since the cone-wrapper served as the candy's mould. Hot candy was poured straight into the wrapper, which was then topped with a paper stick and a coating of wax. Astro Pops were conceived at the ideal period in history, when the 'Space Race' was in full swing and children were fascinated by it.
